I'm so very sorry to hear about your pet, Boo.
I was on here today as I just lost my, Flash, to my dog about an hour ago.
I feel just horrible and came to BYC hoping, maybe, somehow, to feel better.
I saw your post and I just feel sad for you too!
{{{{hugs}}}} on the loss of your pet.

So sorry for your loss my rooster just got attacked by a dog yesterday he too i think has a broken wing & is in shock but the hard part is that he won't let me catch him & check for injuries. My best bet would be to just let him be & hope for the best. He normally flies up in the trees when its time to sleep & never had a problem however yesterday he tried to fly up to be with his girl not once not twice but 4 times only to fall short & fall to the ground.. I think he has injuries to his wings b/c he's never ever had any problems flying up the tree. So he stayed under the house all night long & i heard him crowing this morning & he can walk but i just can't see if he has other injuries. I'm hoping for the best & hope he pulls through Again so sorry for your loss.

Luv,
Cutiepie & the Chickens

We lost our silkie rooster, Mike to our 80 lbs husky today. No blood, no puncture, and stayed alive for 20 minutes after attack. I guess the stress took him. Sorry for all the losses from dog attack.

I love all animals but am really struggling after next doors Husky got out and killed 5 ducks and 4 hens. Horrific attack something I will never forget coming home to. We have since built 6 foot fences and the one remaining duck and his new friends will hopefully be safe

Husky like to chase after small animals. My husky killed family of wild bunny, squirrels, birds, 9 of my chicken. If you have husky or live near one just be prepare. My dog last kill was my 3 months old Australope chick. Until we get the chicken wire tunnel up for our poultry and water fowl pets. My husky will have to stay inside when birds are out.

Your dog will get right through chicken wire! Don't waste time or money on it; get hardware cloth over cattle panels or 2"x4" woven wire fencing, well secured, and dig-proof ground. Mary
