Dog attacked chicks and keets

We just put our 3 barred rock chicks and 2 keets outside. Within 3 hours a dog dug under their run and got all of them.1 keet is missing, assumed dead by feather pile. The other keet is missing all feathers on her back. Out of the 3 barred rocks 2 survived. I have not fully inspected them, they are in shock so im letting them rest. I have no idea where to put them right now! They are about 4 weeks old. I have a momma hen and her 11 chicks inside occupying my mud room. The chicks are about 2 weeks. Would she attack the injures ones if i put them back there? Im not putting them back outside. Any advice would be great. Or is it ok to take her away from her chicks so i can let the inhured ones be with the babies? She still is very protective over them, she will not let us come near!

Yes she will attack them, no I would not remove her from her chicks. Do you have an outdoor coop?
If you have no other space then your mudroom, you need to fashion a cage, or separate space within that area. It does not have to be super secure, just enough of a barrier the hens cannot get through.
To prevent future attacks. It helps greatly if you bury hardware cloth at least 6inches around your run. General rule is hardware cloth should be at least 3ft up and 6 inches deep. This will prevent dogs from digging under your run again.
Sorry for your losses. You should also notify your neighbor that their dog attacked and killed your chickens. When my neighbors dog got one of mine she replaced my hen with 2 new birds. At minimum let them know future attacks will not be tolerated.
