My beautiful cinnamon got attacked by my two dogs yesterday, she has no skin in her back and neck. We washed all her wounds with saline water and applied neosporin and covered her back with gauze pads, crushed 5 aspirins in 1 gallon of water. She’s under a warming light but poor baby not eating and not sure if she’s drinking at all. I just don’t know what else to do and it is breaking my heart To see my sweet girl like this. All the advice will be appreciated. Susana

Poor thing. I am sorry this happened.

Is it just skin missing or is her meat torn up too?
Can you post a picture of the wound?

Bless her heart! I have now decided to always have Vetericyn Wound Spray on hand, after a pullet was scalped to the bone from two competing cockerels tugging at her. It is safe for birds and really aids in healing. There are others like Theracyn, but that is not as strong at Vetericyn. I got mine online for less than $10, but most feed stores have it for a little more. Well worth getting.

Hope she makes it. Chickens heal unusually well if infection is avoided and they come out of shock.
