Not sure if you can even see this, but Bailey's scalp is all the way pulled open to the bone, one huge, rounded flap. It's a wonder I saw it under the feathers, just happened to notice a few feathers sticking up on her head and found it.
I tried several things at first, regular antibiotic ointment, even a single stitch, which did not hold well, but Vetericyn bumped the healing process along fast once I began spraying it on there. You can't tell it was ever a wound. I thought it would be a tricky area in the future, having already been torn completely open due to breeding activity-though I did remove one of the two males in there, a rooster would still be grabbing her head feathers. It's never opened back up.
