This is Zeus, he is an almost 8 year old Golden Lab / Golden Retriever mix. He never stops acting like a puppy! 🐶 He loves sticks (big ones) as toys, and he likes to chase the mail man! LOL Please share your dogs in this thread!

I have four pups at my house. Two are inside dogs and the others are livestock guardians. Each has a unique story. Max and Rose, the livestock guardians, were purchased on Craigslist over two years ago. The owners didn’t realize their Anatolian Shepherd/Pyrenees pup was old enough to have puppies and thus...like ten pups were born. Max was the only one with his style coat. He’s kinda a butterball though, not real smart. Rose on the other hand is as smart as a whip. They don’t look like siblings at all. Max has the thin build of the Anatolian and Rose has the THICC build of the Bernese mountain.

Our two inside dogs are Meko and Oliver. (I posted a thread about him called ‘what’s my mutt?’) We’ve had Meko for about five or six years. His first owner treated them like literal children and spoiled the heck out of them and had no discipline. Her dogs would pee and poop wherever they want and so on. Her husband got tired of it and made her get rid of her dogs. We ended up with the mini yorkie Meko. He was SO sassy. And a brat. He’d pee on the floor just to spite us. Slowly though, he adjusted to middle class life and enjoys running around the farm and just chillin while we work outside. We got Ollie back in April. He was also a craigslist purchase. We tried over and over to rescue but no one would answer. My mom was hesitant. She knew I wanted another dog but she made me promise not to just pick one because I wanted one but to listen to God since we had some stuff going on. I brought my purse with my wallet just in case and we visited a very nice girl who’s Australian shepherd girl had gotten loose and got with the neighborhood dogs. The girl was selling them for $25 because she couldn’t take care of them. They were six weeks old. I picked up Ollie in all of his wiggly whininess and fell in love. My mom was holding an all black pup who sat there quietly. She joked about how we should get that one because of his calmness. But I knew I wanted Ollie. We got my wallet and looked at how much money I had. Mom said she’d pay me back but I didn’t care. I don’t need it for anything. In my wallet there was $25 dollars exactly. We took it as a small sign and took him home. He’s about five months old now and I don’t regret my choice. He’s helped me stay positive with everything going on. He’s also a scaredy cat.

Now it just doesn’t feel right not mentioning Buddie. Buddie was my first real dog. We adopted him when I was seven years old. He was a rescue that had been abused and abandoned. He was eight months old. I remember that I chose him because he was unique and we could take him home that day. He was quite the character. He barked at everything and was super protective. But he was sweet. He would paw at the blankets and moan at you until you let him under. He didn’t whine, he moaned. It was so weird but it was cute. As he got older, he would just lay there for hours and would be so lazy, but if you let him outside, he would fly. He was like a greyhound. He could hang out with the chickens without issue. He even protected me from my rooster that about nailed me. Everyone loved him and would cuddle with you once he deemed you safe. In April, just shy of my 17th birthday, I was gone at my cousin’s house. My dad was outside with Buddie. It was dark and my neighbor drove by. To spare you the rest, Buddie didn’t survive this. It broke my heart. It still breaks my heart... he was my childhood dog. He’s the best darn dog a kid could ask for.

Such a beautiful creamy white coat! With my pond and this heat my dogs could never stay so shiny and pretty.😆
