Malamutes are not usually quieter than huskies. We have friends who breed them and train them for sledding. They need lots and lots of exercise. They are not easy to leash train because they are bred to pull. They are also independent minded. Each dog sheds enough hair to make a Pomeranian about every day.
The other Alaskian Malamute much similar to Huskies but more tainable .Between the two Sanmoida are more friendly but don´t forget that the owner makes the dog they all need to be trained since an early age to coexist with poultry, some breeds are more diffiicult than othersView attachment 2078549
If you find a good one, let me know! I love the husky face and the gray colors, but would prefer a different temperament!
Possibly a German Shepherd? (Look for pictures of the "silver sable" ones.) They certainly have the pointy ears, but they do not have the super fluffy coat or the tail curled up over their backs.
Icelandic Sheep Dogs? They look like a small husky (pointy ears, curled tail, thick coat.) Despite the name, it appears they are not a herding dog, so might not be hyperactive.
