dog crate coop?

I've been told that silkies don't roost at night, but rather they huddle together in a corner...

...if this is true, a dog crate (the kind you use for airplanes) would work as a night time coop...wouldn't it? Or would that be too drafty?

I'm just trying to figure out what to do if I can't get the two sets of chickens to intergrate...hubby flat out said he will not build another coop

Well you could just get a pet taxi, im sure that wouldt be drafty at all.

How about a dog house? It would be easy to add windows and a door, and you can get them cheap off of Craig's List
