Hello, I have been using a large raised plastic planter with a ventesld lid for my temporary brooder.
The Pros:
The brooder is off the ground so less likely to be bumped
The brooder stays nice and warm and has air vents in the lids and sides so air can circulate
The have a hot side and a cool side
The deep litter is contained within the planter (mostly)
The birds are active
The brooder is easily accessible
I'm disabled so not bending to top-up food and water has been hugely beneficial for me
The Cons:
It's not the cheapest set-up. (I had a couple in the garden unused when they hatched).
It's getting a bit small now for my growing chicks.
Good luck deciding on your brooder.
