It is just a big run, technically. It's a big chainlink pen with the 2 dogloos inside the run (we don't really have predators) under a big nice tree. Silkies do not roost, they snuggle down in the shavings on the ground in the dogloos, and for a nestbox I have a small covered wooden box with shavings. Only 2 hens are laying, so I just have one box for now. They do well in this setup. Works for me anyway!
