I recently adopted a mini- schnzeser. She loves the backyard with the free ranging chickens. One problem she sneaks in and eats the laying mash and it gives her awful diarrhea. Does anyone have any ideas of how I could make a raised feeder the chickens could jump up to, but the dog could not. It is a pain watching her every minute to keep her out of the chicken house. Thank you in advance!

Be thankful she's not eating the chickens. ;)
One of the feeding stations in my run is on a table I constructed from scrap lumber. My birds jump up to it fine. Another station hangs on the wall of the run with a roost in front of it.

Thought for sure you miss spoke and meant dog eating chicken poo...

@TalkALittle has a good suggestion.

Some people have been using no waste feeders that is basically a five gallon bucket with pvc piping that allows enough room for the chickens head and neck and they can reach the feed and nothing else really can from what i have seen that might work for you.

What a coincidence, the same thing happened with my mini poodle mix last week. She would only eat a little bit and didn't get diarrhea though. She stopped after i told her no a few times. Your dog sure is stubborn, she is going to get what she wants, lol.

Some folks simply put an old table or bench in the coop and put the feeder up there.

You could look at the no-waste feeders made from buckets, where the birds have to stick their heads into a hole to eat.

I have the galvanized hanging feeders and just made a screen of chicken wire to keep the birds from billing feed out. It would also stop a dog from eating feed.

Not my dogs. They would bat it like a pinata and eat the spilled feed from the ground.
