Dog food?

Just wondering, is dog food good/bad for chickens? Mine are free to roam most of the time and I find them most mornings eating my dogs food. They have plenty of feed, and other foods like vegetables given to them plus they can get all the vegetation and bugs they want.

Mine nibble at the dog food out of curiosity so they don't eat much of it. I wouldn't think it would hurt them unless they ate so much that they neglected their regular feed.

My whole flock will attack any dog food bowl left sitting around with food in it EVERY morning. If I don't get to it in time, it'll be pecked clean in no time. Never had any health issues... Just a couple of hungry dogs!
