My dog got ahold of one of my chickens, a one month old golden polish today:(. I was able to get her out of the dogs mouth but she still seems to be partially in shock 2 hours later. I sprayed her wounds with hydrogen peroxide and applied neosporin and medihoney (which was very successful for a chicken I had who was attacked by a fox years ago). She’s inside in a large bin with heat separated from the other chickens in a quiet place. I’ve been giving her water and chick feed mixed with water as I found was recommended by another thread. She’s sleeping most of the time but has gotten up walked a few steps and pecked around three or four times. It’s been over 2 hours since the attack and just wanted to see if anyone had any additional recommendations for her care.

a little sugar in the water or if you have the chicken electrolyte mix to help her out of her shock. Sounds promising though. ya know she is really good when she fluffs up and preens her heathers.

efit to say I am not an expert and didn't even stay at a holiday inn express recently so hopefully a better member will chime in too.

Thanks for the help! I really do appreciate it
