Dog hair + chicks ?

I just pulled a long dog hair out of one of my chicks' beaks. She acted like it was really bothing her I guess it was "tickling" as it was stuck in her throat.

They won't choke to death on dog hair do you think??

They shouldn't, for some reason i remember my chickens going to pick the hair off of my great pyrenees while she slept.. Never could figure out why, but they did it.

Hair like feathers is mostly protein. Chickens will eat feathers for protein so i guess that would include hair.

I figure they just find them, because my dog is shedding "fur bunnies" all over the place, including some into the brooder. It's not like they're picking them off the dog! lol
