My favorite chicken just got attacked by a dang dog. It took her feathers out and consequently, the skin on the back of her neck, above her wing blades. it's about a 2 inch patch exposed when I look under her feathers. I"m finding conflicting advice about how to treat.

Details: her mouth goes from open to closed for periods of time. She is mobile. I have her in my bathtub on some towels right now to keep her in a sterile environment and she's just hanging out and chirping a little bit. I haven't treated the wound yet. Our chicken experts are closed right now so I can't call them. Cavity is exposed. Her muscles are not punctured. No blood. What to do!? I have sterile pads to put on her to keep out flies if need be. Don't feel like it's a good idea to put saline on her wound since it can get into her cavity. antibiotic ointment? Saline? hydrogen peroxide is mentioned as good and bad...

I'll be giving her some eggs and oatmeal once I get this treated. Have some Sulmet to put in her water.

She's a salmon faverolle, age 1 year and 2 months
