Hi. I have a 7 year old lab and she is starting to lose a little bit of fur on her chest I'm not really sure why. She does not have fleas or mites, but she does have a gluten allergy but we get gluten free dog food. She has been licking the spot where she is losing the fur. If it gets any worse I'm going to take her to the vet but what do you think it is, should I go ahead and take her to the vet know. Here is a pic. Thanks

My dog did similar.
What is the primary meat ingredients in her food?
I put a shirt on my dog to stop the licking and she grew her fur back in about a week.

Looking at the photo that you have attached I guess it is time to see your vet. She already had a bald spot on her chest which is not a good sign. Go seek for professional help to find out the reason why she is shedding on the specific spot.

Thanks everyone
Looks like food allergy.
This is exactly what happened to my dog when she was on a chicken based diet.
My dog is allergic to chicken.
Before going to the vet, try switching her to a beef based food. Worked for us.

What brand do you use?
