dog issue but oppisit of what most are having

so for some reason my chicks have delcared war on my dog duke hes a 75lbs sammoyed


he has done nothing to cause these birds to not like him he avoids them like the pleg between plucking his fur and attacking him when he is asleep they jump at his face and flap there wings he is a very gental natured dog but its just a matter of time before he gets ticked off enough he is gong to fight back (right now he gets up and runs away and has 4 chickens chasing after him) when he snaps im going to have dead chickens. I know simple answear is keep chicken locked up away from him but we are at are hottes temps yesterday back porch was at 123 and we are hotter today so we all need to share the cool air and yes the chickens are coming inside (yet another reason i cant wait till september sick of cleaning up chicken poop) I yell at teh chicks when this happens and kind of tell when they are planning on the attack they like stand togeather and look at duke and like look at each other then then the run starts with head down and wings out and its not just 1 its all 4 of them. any thought would be appricated other wise chicks are going to have to suffer in this hell weather.

oh ya i have a 15 year old lab other then plucking her balls of fur off of her ( she has hip dysplashia and arthritis and really dont like to be burshed) they leave her alone and she is the one that will walk into there coop and take there yogart or if there feed snacks she is right in the mix with them and they dont think twice about her, and my cat only gets attacked if she attempts to walk past them duke is the only one they target.

Holy cow 123 is hot hot hot! Not sure why this is happening, but one thought would be to shave your Samy down to a shorter do. He will be happier without all his insulation for the summer and the chickens will see a different dog with his shaved-off fur. Enough that is may make them wary to peck at the new dog.

its a home did job so i dont show it off very much lol he looks patitic after bing shaved although right now its not this short he has grown a small layer back to keep from getting sun burned
