dog kennel as movable coop and run?

I have seen some rather inexpensive and lightweight dog houses. I also had thoughts of putting one without a bottom in my fenced yard and moving it every few days.

We are using a 10x10x4 kennel as our temporary home for the chicks too old/big to be inside any more. I had to tack Chicken Wire to the outside and put a tarp over the top to keep them from flying/running out of it but so far its working. It is also right outside our bedroom window and in front of our other dogs so if there were to be any night creatures to visit them we would hear about it.

Here are some photos

Hope that helps

Our dog run had hardware cloth 3 fe:(et up, but a HUGE rat dug in and cornered a gorgeous bantam hen in the coop and killed her. We thought we were safe from rats since there is cement on two sides but all it took was about a 5 inch strip with no cement or buried wire.

i want to put a kennel run inside my fenced run area so extra protection. How can you install wheels on those (like the 2nd pic from coyotemagic) so I can rotates it around for the grass's health?

My DH modified a cedar dog house from Lowes....he has since added another 4' section for the run. He has it so the wheels attach under the dog house part, he lifts the run part and rolls it around. It was harder since he added the other 4'. It now has a wood bottom and addition out the side.....all to make it easier for me.

I would like to see the inside...that's great looking.

The inside Is nothing special BUT since that pic it has had a few more decorations added a "PRIVACY GLASS" tinted sliding window to the back side. Alsi if you look at my page you can see the other one that now houses RIR bantams.

Ours....

We're building a second bantam run using a dog kennel; same treatment regarding the bottom, sides and roof...in this one the coop will be inside the kennel instead of attached at one end.

What did you use on the top? Is that PVC pipe with hard wire? If PVC what did you attach it to?

I'm looking to make a run out of a chainlink dog kennel. I would like to door working because my coop wil fit inside the run. I understand how to reinforce the bottom of the run, door excluded. Any ideas on how to keep predators from geting in under the door?
