I have a small bag of dog kibble that is a brand I no longer feed my dogs. Can I give it to my ducks? Or my friends chickens? It’s a fish based kibble if that matters.

What about cat food?
I've fed cat food to ducks and geese as a protein supplement for decades. I stick with the cheaper Purina brands, though, because I once opened an off-brand bag of cat food and it smelled rancid. Mostly I've used Kit & Kaboodle, Friskies Seafood Sensations and Indoor Cat Chow. The first two are really high on grains and low on meat protein, the best type for birds, in my opinion.

P.S. The few times I tried 9-Lives cat food, because it was on sale, the ducks and geese acted like they had been given nothing. I don't know why, but I stopped feeding that.

Get the kind of dog or cat food that is shaped like little fish. The kind shaped like little bones will get stuck in their throat :)
Us humans do some weird stuff.

But, yeah, the,ducks'll love it.

Why would the shape matter unless it's much bigger?
