Dog of the week here!!

Oh my goodness that's neat! I love those types of dogs except I'm not very fimiliar with the shepards. I'm into rotties, dobeys, mastiffs, Great Danes, Pitts, chocolate labs, and mostly all the large breed dogs. Are your rotties stomach sensitive? Mine is and I feed her diamond brand maintenance from tractor supply and she does so well on it. I did have her on 4 health but we switched to diamond they are pretty much the same but diamond has a better formula I think.

None of mine are sensitive to anything. I feed them olroy from Walmart with chicken broth.

Pretty dogs! I tried my lab on ol Roy but it didn't work too well with him so I give him purina chow. Lol. You have pretty roosters too! We have a black copper maran that's absolutely beautiful and a blue sumatra rooster. He is still a baby though he will be big when he gets to the age

I wish I could get more different breeds and colors of chickens. Can you post pics of yours?
Thank goodness my dogs like olroy. I could not afford more expensive food

We have a good bit of different breeds. I have a Millie Cochin , 2 barred rocks, my black copper maran rooster, a EE, sea brite, an american game, a white speckled banham, a red sex link, blue black splash maran, black sumatra hen, blue black sumatra rooster and I also have a white royal palm turkey who thinks he is a chicken lol and the 4 health is grain free and doesn't have any artificial ingredients and is a good brand it's only 19.99 for I think around 30 lbs I can't remember but the diamond brand we buy is 25 for almost 50 I believe and she's a big dog we only buy one bag every 5 weeks around.

Wow. That's alot of chickens. I am hoping to get four in the future and have been thinking of a white jersey giant. Brama, buff orphinton, SLW and barred rock. What do you think of those breeds?
I buy a 50lb bag of olroy for around 20 bucks every two weeks

Once you get 4 you'll want more! Lol you will get into it! I keep my main group my free roamers in our barn so they roost in there and my others and laying hens stay in the coop. Don't put roosters together though lol. And we wanted to get a jersey giant but we ended up getting the black copper maran. Jersey giants get very big I heard. They are nice roosters to have though.. Not too sure about hens. I like buff orpjingtons my grandma had one in the 80s she said that layed very well. And I absolutely love barred rocks... My 4 year old hen we thought stopped laying but every few weeks she lays a HUGE brown egg with a huge orange yolk. She's wonderful but she's so big she doesn't fly like our others lol. And we have a barred rock peep who will lay in the spring. They are good egg layers. Those are all great breeds. If you want plenty of eggs I'd find a few sex links or just have one.. They are good egg layers.. Rhode islands are too but my experience they get too mean... My one hen killed the other... Lol

I wish I could get alot but I am already pushing it by having six dogs and two roosters. The city limits pwt owners to four pets and chickens aren't allowed. I wish I lived out in the country. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the different breeds. You must live in a large farm? What state? I live in Pompano Beach FL

Really? Omg I never knew that.. Hopefully it isn't for us here... We are from Maryland. We have the strictest gun laws and laws on hunting and the dumbest stuff. Lol. Waiting periods to buy handguns is ridiculous and our hunting licenses are going up. My husband is a hunter and the laws just are stupid here. They are doing nothing but keeping the guns out of the American citizens hands and giving them to the crooks and criminals. But I hope we don't have no problems keeping chickens I haven't heard anything about that. But yeah we are from western md and we live on a decent size piece of land beside my grandma so we share 2 large yards.. Wich is about almost ten acres and we also own property in West Virginia wich isn't far from here. But this is the family farm lol my grandma used to have horses next door and when she was a kid and lived in our house we live in now she had her first horse and that's the barn we use for most of our chickens now. We have a few quail too! Lol
