Dog Poop!

G’Day from down under Jovanella :frow Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.

Personally, I have found the Topic of the Week articles a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

I think they just mean that as long as there's no corn kernals in the dog's poo, the chickens will have no interest in digging through it and eating it lol
Ok, that makes sense. Shouldn't be feeding sweet corn to a dog, anyway, gives them a sever upset stomach. Other than that, I just figured it must be the GMO factor.

Thanks everyone for the advice! I have 2 Labs and I would never allow them to access the chicks! My Labs are sweet and loving. One is 12+ yrs and the other is 2-1/2 yrs. They would play too rough. My chicks are in their 9' long coop that is enclosed with chicken wire and the "penthouse" has 3 nesting boxes. Lots of shredded pine lines the "poop" tray and I keep it clean. One of my girls, Daisy, had a paste problem but I fixed it with warm water and a paper towel until her vent was clear. Today, I picked her up and looked at her behind and it looks kind of bare! Do you all think she was pulling at the feathers or the other chicks? They are at least 6+ weeks old now and spend all of their time either in the coop free ranging it on sand. Should I be concerned? I looked for bugs, mites etc... but didn't see anything. All my other girls have fluffy butts!
