Inferno came into the pup raising den and admired the newborns. She wanted to have a mate someday, but right now she was to busy. Daisy had young pups in her nest and she stared at them. She would be their friends, as they would be future alphas.

Inferno stood guard at the entrance to the pup den but the scent of blood and fear slammed into her nose. A husky, a big one, tore into camp. He was howling with pain and smelled of Stone Pack. She raced over but brief recognition and surprise rammed through her mind. One terrified bark came out, "Dad?!"
