We are glad you joined our flock.
Does he have something stuff in his throat that he is trying to get out?
He may have eaten something that didn't agree with him and he already threw up everything in his belly and is not just dry heaving?
How long has he been doing this?

Hope your dog will be okay. Dogs do frequently throw up or have dry heaves, they eat something they thought would be good & then change their mind. Or if they only are fed once a day, they may hawk up bile (my dog did) from being empty. The vet said to break his meal up and feed him twice a day instead. Still did that off the end of the bed
at night. Didn't seem to bother him at all - but kept waking me up.

Started around 4 o'clock this morning, he is better now, thanks for you advice
