Dogs attacked twice

I know this is an old thread but I too have this issue the last 2 1/2 weeks. Some dogs killed almost everything I had and then came back this morning and got the rest. The local police told me nothing they can do since an animal attacked another animal. Just give them a citation. Which they did the first time and this guy couldn't find it nowhere in the system. And I had them in a fence.
Check your laws relating to roaming dogs and livestock. Odds are the officer was incorrect.

I did and I read that if a dog within 36 months comes on your property and kills your domestic animals twice that the police can seize the dog under the "dangerous" dog law. the only thing I read about livestock is that they need to be commercial which I guess mine are domestic. The officer told me that the guy will get rid of both dogs today or further action will be taken by them but not sure if I believe that guy or maybe he just doesn't know the laws.

I would not believe the word of the policeman. I would see the laws with my own eyes. County and city officials have been known to give out incorrect information. I hate that so many ordinances seem to favor the dog owner. You must have some recourse, commercial operation or not. Well, I don't favor the dog owner and I've owned a few dogs in my life and love dogs.

My dogs were kept at home-it's really not brain surgery, but apparently, there are quite a few brain-dead dog owners who can't seem to corral one single canine. They also seem to think that just because we can eat chickens, they are less important than a dog. Never saw a dog give you anything you could eat (except, maybe the dog itself, if you're Korean-my son lives there) so why is it more valuable than a chicken? But, I digress. If the authorities won't take care of it, I guess the chicken owner has to.
