My sister's dogs were over visiting my dogs today, anyway 2 of my hens got hurt. I'm not sure if they were my dogs, her dogs, or a combination. All dogs are around my hens a lot as they are free ranging. One of my hens has a cut in her back, I think she will end up being okay, another hen's back was pretty raw. I cleaned it well, but antibiotic ointment on it and wrapped it in gauze, with an ace bandage to hold it on. She is breathing shallowly and quickly. I desperately want to save her. I'm giving her droppers of water with a little sugar in it, and she's in a crate in my sunroom. I'm not sure what else to do. Should I just keep giving her water every 10 minutes or so? any other ideas?

Keeping the wound clean and putting on the anitbiotic ointment is a great start. You'd be surprised at how fast these guys can heal up. Keep a close eye on her. Also offering the water is a good idea as well.

I think you will nurse her right back to good health. In my short time with my chickens I have all sorts of problems and they are pretty hardy those chickens. Anyways My dog which is pretty good with the chickens thought she was helping me one day and caught one and brought her to me and spit her out on the floor. I panicked and drove her right to the vet because she had a pretty bad cut on her back. The doctor put about 17 stitches in her back and she was back to normal before you know it. I think all that you are doing should do the trick. She is shocked a bit right now but she is isolated from the others right? I have to go back and read your note, cuz when I have any problem with mine I separate them cuz the others will pick on them. Well good luck and I think she will be A OK:)
