So, dogs use urination as a means of marking their territory.

Do chickens poop as a means of marking their territory ? ? ? ?

I ask this question SERIOUSLY Because I have a bird that we are having to administer antibotics to twice a day. EVERY TIME we take him out of the kennel to medicate him . . . as soon as we release him . . . he runs in the kennel in poops.

I highly doubt that,and I think there sense of smell isnt highly developed to detect the odor.

I think that might simply be a stress response.

It more likely the stress and being handled that prompts him to defecate.

x3 on stress and/or handling. Often I find they hold any sort of need to poo during times of being handled, even if it isn't under stress.
