Doing it wrong (so you don't have to)

Day 1: nothing happened. The eggs just slowly rolled back and forth.

Did anyone expect anything else?

Ambient room temperature : 57-76°F.
I Put some water in the little hole in the bottom this morning. There is a lot of static when I petted my dog, so the air is probably dry.

Day 2: they just keep rolling.

Ambient air temp: 59-81°F. Got really warm outside here yesterday and the wood stove was still burning since there is cold weather coming tomorrow.

I generally incubate in my basement, more consistent temperature and humidity there, since my basement is always damp.

Day 3: nothing new. I will not be candling today. I know a lot of people candle on day 3, but not me. I actually rarely candle this early. I did open the incubator last night and move a couple eggs around that looked like they might not be rolling properly.

Ambient room temperature: 63-76°F
I squirted water in today, as I always do.

Day 6: today's ambient temperatures were 63-73°F.

Heavy rains yesterday and last night drove the ambient humidity way up.

I thought I might lose power while I was at work, which would have caused the incubator to reset to 2°C low, but I was fortunate and the power remained on.
