My silkie cock had scaly leg mites. All treated and gone now. A few scales lifted up on his toes and are waiting to drop off so he can grow new ones. I soaked his feet yesterday in Epsom salts with a plan to clean off any remaining mite crud because I noticed him doing the flamingo thing over the past couple of weeks. Lifting one leg up at a time and just standing there on one leg. Not always the same leg.

Anyway, his feet didn't look too bad at all to me when I cleaned them up. No caked on crud, skin healthy, no bumbles. Just the few lifted toe scales. My pekin had terrible feet compared to him and she was really suffering. But his were OK in comparison. He isn't limping when he walks, can run fine, comb healthy, mating like billyo, no other symptoms or injuries.

Any idea why he is doing the Flamingo?

I've never come across that before. I mean, the whole flock had the mites and he is the only one to be flamingoing, even though the mites are gone. Very odd.
