i dont have an incubator nor do i want one at this time...does anyone else take advantage of their broodies in the spring?

Not just spring! One of my bantam Cochins went broody end of December - has a lovely little chick following her around now.

one of my bantams had one chick for the winter until the dog got the chick...poor girl...hopefully she wasnt traumatized....and the other broody hen (BO) had 2 broods last year, 6 in the first one and 4 in the second one...and out of those 10 only 3 were roos! and i get to keep all of the roos for fair!
