Here is a watercolor sketch I did last Sunday afternoon - took about an hour. The subject is based on a few of the Phoenix roosters that I raise and I added some driftwood to match some of the mat color in the frame.

I have come to realize sometimes it is easier to do a watercolor with some desired characteristics (conformation, color, feathering, size etc.) rather than doing repeated breeding and selections over many years.

Actually both methods of "creating" pleasing specimens are enjoyable for me.
