I was interested in the Australian Spotted duck, a bantam duck. They can fly well and I was wondering that if they get flown off by a predator will they be lost? or do they return?
Thanks,

That may come back but there's a really good chance they will just be lost.

If you have a breeding pair, and trim one set of flight feathers on the Hen, to where she can still elevate, but will only fly in a circle, will keep her at home. The Drake will stay by her side, so wing trimming in not really necessary for him. But they will leave if you are not able to protect them from predators even if they have to waddle away.
