howdy all, its very nice being here on this site!
a bunch of nice folks for sure! thank you for all the help and advice!

my question is : i have a black australorp male that was given to me, real good looking bird, except the eyes should be in a rhode island red.
will that red eye be cancelled out by the dominant black eye in the breed or is the red a dominant gene, and i should put the bird in the stewpot?

thank you for your time
chet

Id think you would see chicks with either color eye possiblities..just my thought on it..
I wouldnt kill a bird just for wrong eye color...unless you really had to cull it..

In Minorcas...the dark color will cancel out the lighter eye color.

BUT...it depends on the actual shade of that eye color (the undesired one).
