Dominant Pullet?

Hi! We recently got a mixed batch of rare breed pullets and 5 cockerels. A few of the day old chicks didn’t survive the shipment and so we don’t know how many fellows we have left. The chicks are now just over six weeks old. 3 are clearly roosters, but the other day I saw a cream legbar standing up to one of them , chest to chest, eye to eye. I assumed the CL was female...she has a crest but no red comb yet. Could a pullet ever behave in that assertive fashion with a cockerel?

Yes - not uncommon at all for pullets to spar/mock fight.
