Dominique or Barred Rock

Already had one Dominique and ordered 3 more....I think one is a Barred Rock and/or a Roo...they were supposed to be pullets.This is Dill, the little booger in question...in the back ground you can see one of the other Dominiques. Dill is just more striped seeming, more black and white vs black and gray, and has a snoz like Jimmy Durante. I do think he is a Roo...but also a Barred Rock. I think the hatchery slipped him in as a Dominique and thought I would be none the wiser since they look so much alike as new chicks.

Look closely at the comb (can't see it in the pic), a rose comb is a Dominique and a straight comb is a Bared Rock.

Oh just saw your first pic. Ok went back and looked through a few of my old pictures. It looks more like my Dominiques did than my barred rocks.

hmmmm, he doesn't look like my other Dominiques.....I have one 2 wks older than him and two more that I got at the same time.

He is a Dom. Different lines have some slight differences, he is definately a Dom.

Which hatchery did you get him from?

Most of mine looked similar to him at that age. At the same time however, I could tell that I had young birds from three different lines. Two from a hatchery and another from a breeder. All similar, but you can tell them apart.

got him from Stromberg's.....so yall agree that this is probably a Roo?
