Hi all -

At what age is a male dominique chick's comb distinguishable from a females?

Tried the "head spot" and "leg shadow" thing at day one or two, but none of them looked particularly male or female by those methods. They all had blurry head spots, and they all had leg shadows.

Depending on their age, you will see the difference in their feathers. I would say around 4 weeks you may start noticing a difference.

Whats the difference in their feathers? I only have one to go by, so nothing to compare it to, but I was hoping their combs would be like that of any other breed.

Males are much lighter due to the white bars being wider, therefore, they appear more silvery than the pullets.
