Dominque acting different

hi all-

My sweet Dominique hen has been acting odd lately. She is not socializing with the flock. Standing off by herself and falling asleep standing up. Her tail feathers are very fluffed and she looks puffy all around. She may have laid her first egg yesterday- not certain. Any suggests of what might be wrong?

I would isolate her (dog crate) with food and water and monitor her eating/drinking and see if her droppings look normal. What is her age and how long has she been this way? Is her crop empty, full, hard, soft, squishy, etc. Any signs of respiratory disease, any bad odors? Is her vent area clean and normal looking? Have you checked her over for lice/mites? There are many possibilities, coccidiosis, worms/parasites, internal laying, infection, etc, so you need to do some observing and examining to try to narrow it down. Hope these suggestions help.
