Question 1 - Is anything more exciting??!

Day 1 - Brahma (creative name, I know) showed signs of being broody so I put extra eggs (I believe some are fertilized, will attach pics of eggs from the fridge) with the dates on them in her nest. She sat for about 4 hours and then went back to her roost at night.
Day 2 - Sat on her eggs except for between 10 AM and 4 PM when she ran around normally. I added more new eggs. Stayed the night on the nest!
Day 3 - Same as day 2
Day 4 - Today - Has not left the nest for a second and it’s 6pm
Questions 2 through 4 - What is day one of incubation? How can I candle the eggs if she never gets off the nest? Its pretty cold here in PA... will any of those eggs still be alive?

I ordered eggs on day 2 that are expected to arrive sometime between Tuesday (Day 6) and Monday (Day 12).
Question 5 - What am I going to do??!!!

One of her sisters seems interested in also sitting on a nest, perferrably the one Brahma is in. Brahma has layed her eggs in her baby coop (will attach a pic, it’s only 4x4) since she started laying 4 months ago. She will be one year old next week! On Day 0 everyone decided they wanted to start laying in Brahmas nesting box. We don’t use that coop except for Brahma to lay eggs in. I have only been closing the door for Brahma at night.
Questions 6 through 9 - Should I close the door during the day? Should I hang up a blanket since it’s an open front coop? Should I add more eggs to the nest opposite Brahma and try to encourage Toni (Golden Laced Wyandott) to sit also for when the new eggs arrive? How is it possible to love chickens this much??
