Hello. I have been hatching chickens for 3 years now. I have had successful batches in the past. But this year was not as I expected, First batch i put in 14 eggs and only two hatched... Second batch i put in 20 eggs One hatched but it was crippled and deformed... My third batch i put in 25 eggs and only 3 hatched (Not including the one that died while it was zipping) Should i throw away the incubator?? My batches were so good last year but, This year was not the best.

Were all of the eggs fertile? Did you candle them at all? Could be the incubator. Got any broodies? Might want to try hatching eggs under a hen next! Good luck!

Do you buy eggs? If so then the cock might have been part of the problem. Leg wounds can give low fertility, bantom with normal too. What breed, rose combs are very hard to hatch.

How disapointing!
Do you make sure the incubator is tested, temp and humidity before you start every hatch?
Just storing them from season to season, they get knocked once to hard, or jostled some can put them off.
What is your source of the hatching eggs?
And the handling and storage process of them before setting in the incubator?
