So I have a young 5 month old quail who in the last couple of months formed a close friendship with my other female quail (2+yrs)
Unfortunately she passed the other day, and he has been crowing/calling ever since for her. I know he’s definitely calling for her because when she was here and was ever out of sight, he would call and find her through her response.
I even tried to explain the situation to him by showing her to him, he didn’t seem to understand.
He isn’t alone, has 2 other females, one of which keeps fighting him.
Some advice would be grand.
