Our goose accidentally got into the donkeys pen. Donkey stomped and bit goose. I took goose to vet and he put in stitches and staples. Three wounds, one on the underside of belly by leg, and two further back by tail. Gave her a shot of antibiotics and I’ll continue for five days.
She’s resting well in garage in crate. Drinking well, does not stand. I have dry Mazuri waterfowl and some kale within her reach. Should I try some sort of mash?

After an attack, it is fairly common for a bird to be reluctant to eat, however, if that kind of behavior continues you'll need to see your vet and ask about supplemental tube feeding. For now, you can try and see if she'll eat some soupy warm mashed feed, or whatever might be her favorite treat.

Thank you, she is badly bruised. Thank goodness her beak is good, wings are fine. I’m sure she feels like she’s been hit by a Mack truck!

Luckily, indeed! Several years ago, I had my pelvis fractured in two places by one of my donkeys who took exception to the treats I was feeding another donkey. An ambulance transported me to University Hospitals and the only surgeon in Iowa who performs the particular surgery I needed. I still spent 3 months with a walker and a wheelchair, and 3 more with a cane. But, hey, I can practically predict the weather with all that metal in my right side!

Seriously, it's fortunate she survived and that you have a vet who was willing and able to help her. Best wishes on her recovery!

Thank you so much. I’m so sorry of your injury.

Not that I'm Mary Sunshine, and I don't recommend getting stomped, but I learned a lot from that experience. Some of it was painful, but some of it was pretty good. Still, I don't have donkeys anymore :)

I had a gaggle of geese trying to share a pile of hay with one of the horses. When the mare charged at them and told them to get, she ran over one. Luckily, the goose was only stepped on. Broke the skin on one foot but no other damage. Couldn't use the foot for about a week. She happily would eat a head of romaine every day to ease her pain. I would be giving her extra lettuce and fruit to get her eating. Your girl sustained much more damage so I would expect her to take much more time healing.
