I want to get a donkey or goat but im not sure which
do you have to have multiply donkeies or will it be ok by itself with a little company from a dog
(same with goat)

thanks ps it would be a mini donkey

A donkey would kill a dog. The fact that you didn't know that very well known piece of information and you seem to be talking like 'Well should I get red shoes or blue shoes?' I suggest you do research (ever heard of google or bing?) and get ready for a goat or a donkey, their both very different animals and which one you'd want will show quickly if you did this ODD thing called research.

Donkeys do great as long as they have a "friend" but that friend does not have to be another donkey.Be careful with an adult donkey unless it was raised with dogs they might not like a dog. They are livestock guardians and naturally will chase away coyote and there is not much difference between a dog and a coyote. I've never had a problem with my donkeys and dogs but they are raised together. Goats are a little harder to manage they tend to find ways to escape and eat your neighbors garden. Lol! It is also best to have more than one if your getting a goat.

I agree with this.. thumbs up.... I always encourage people to search!!!! Why would you start asking people before doing research. ..

Except that it is not a rule like many "well known pieces of info" lol! I have donkeys and I have dogs and they get along fine. I also know others who have donkeys and dogs as well. It's best to get a young donkey that can grow up around dogs but you can also have luck with an adult donkey that is either used to dogs or if your patient enough train them to get along.

I keep my donkey in with goats, I see no reason why you couldn't get both!

My goats drive me crazy with their mischief and, well, just their "goatness"! I love 'em but they drive me crazy sometimes. Just know what your getting into re care etc. If you get goats you need more then one, they are definitely a herd animal. Just do a ton of research on both animals and their care before jumping in since you could potentially have either for a long time. My two goats are 9 years old and going strong. I don't know how it is with donkey's but in some areas there's not a lot of vet knowledge with goats, although it seems to be getting better. So you need to be very informed on goat health yourself.

As far as the dog for company for either of these animals: As mentioned, not unless they were raised together. Although my dogs were raised around my goats and my goats still hate them.
