podunk... I mean Wabash, IN
COLOR before 1yr old or maybe later. What is it with my Scovies?
O.K. so now I know that the white head gene manifests later on some Scovies than others and that barring seems to intensify, at least with my Scovy girl w/said gene manifesting.
NOW my adult breeding black drake, Duke, with only a single small white feather before molting is growing in ALL WHITE flight feathers. Goodness, maybe it's the water

or is this typical of Muscovies? Please let me know if you've experienced similar color changes.

They are not my concern or what I asked. He didn't have all this white before & now he does. He also has a gypsy mask which is in my book "wonderful." I will take pic's of before and after once ALL his new feathers are in. Perhaps the black feathers coming in will cover all that white once they are fully in.

Thanks Hurst. Are yours adults that continue to change or juvies?
I really am interested in this. I hope I hear fm some other Scovy keepers.

IM SORRY MAYBE THEYRE LATE MATURERS

O.K. OSUman, I won't give you any more grief.

BUT .....they are after all producing ducklings together soooo I would say that they are fully adult Scovies & you'd think that was mature enough.
