I'm a newbie in the chicken world.
Just lucked into these 12 pretty babies at a local petting farm.
Can anyone tell me what I have.
I can get some better pics if these aren't clear enough.
Thanks and can't wait to learn from everyone!!
Please excuse me if I don't paste these pics right ...

Thanks, Cynthia!
I took some better pics of the white ones and spotted ones.
How soon should I be able to tell gender?
I was suprised to hear the gray one is a cockerel!
It looks like I have 4 cocks so far -- the cochin, a white one, the turken and a speckled one. They are all hopping around towards each other and flaring their neck feathers. The turken even has a cut on his neck. I think I'll seperate them tonight.

You have some Barred Rock pullets in there, but I'm not a "white chicken person", LOL. Not sure which you have, Cornish Cross or pure White Rock. I think the blue/gray one is a cockerel, but I've been wrong before. Do you have any idea how old they are?

Can't add anything on the IDs but can say Welcome!! Hope you have as much fun with your chickens as the rest of us BYC addicts do.

Arlee, I haven't been this excited since ... gosh, I don't know when. It's a sad life. Just kidding!
I am having so much fun with them.
My son sits in the coop to do his homework.
I sit out there as long as I can just watching them, trying to get them to come to me on their own.
They're skiddish -- they came from a petting farm and had kids grabbing at them all day.
The owner said they were 6 weeks old when I got them and that was about 4 weeks ago.

Chickens do that, all 4 of my pullets do the same thing, all day long. At least I HOPE that isn't strictly cockerel behaviour! Or I got 4 roos instead of pullets! LOL
