Don't know egg age in incubator

Mort went outside today because of the warm weather, the little diva hated it and figured out he was still small enough to squeeze out between the bars of the open bottom kennel I was using. Course I was supervising and caught him pretty quick lol. He's very small for his age....3 wks tomorrow, but has all wing and tail feathers with more coming on his chest and shoulders. Very active, eating and drinking well so his size isn't too concerning to me.

A maran of some sort. Either a pure black/copper or a black/copper/blue mix
Mine hatched right around the same time as yours. That's how I found your post. He/she was the only one that hatched. Very much attached to my husband. He/she sits on my husband shoulder and falls asleep at the bend of his elbow. Won't come near me, lol. I don't know his/her breed either. My husband insisted that it's a he, I'm not sure. Number 1(his NAM) is 4.5 weeks old.

My logic is whenever I've been convinced I had a girl, it ends up being a boy so if I believe it's a boy it'll be a girl lol

Mort's siblings are hatching!! 3 days early . Was prepping the incubator for lockdown and two eggs started yelling at me. One popped wrong end, but has air, other popped internally. Hope they hatch alright because I hadn't raised the humidity yet and was doing a dry run...:fl....and now we wait...:th

This hatch is going SO MUCH BETTER than Mort's!!! 5/6 have hatched, 6th has pipped. 4 have been moved to the brooder with Mort and I left one in the incubator to cheer on the last egg. Currently have the babies in a little box in the brooder so Mort can get used to them. He's been being a jealous dick though, but that's sibling rivalry for ya lol

I've been sitting at the brooder acting like a mother hen. So most of the time Mort was okay with the new arrivals, then he'd random run over and peck at them. So whenever I saw him going to bother them I'd cup my hand around the babies and kind of shoo him. He seems to have figured it out now lol. Just kind of walking around them like "what the hell are these?!"

The 6th chick hatched, but had a little non absorbed yolk, much like Mort did. I've decided to leave it in the incubator overnight before putting it in the brooder with the rest of the chicks to increase it's chances of finishing absorption and not getting picked at. Hopefully it makes it...:fl
