Don't know what to do for chick, leg swollen or puffed up!!!

I Don't know what to do, my hen's chick was attacked by something, and I've kept it in my house ever since. Today it walked funny so I brought her in and the area where she was bitten has now swollen or puffed up. I'm not sure what to apply on the wound or how to cure the swelling, I hear I can apply Gentian Violet, would this help?

It could be an abscess from infection. Can you try and lance the wound, and try to squeeze out any pus or blood? Is the swelling firm, puffy, or like it is filled with fluid or air? Betadine or peroxide is good to clean a wound once or twice, plain Neosporin ointment can be applied to any wound.

Well it spans from the lower of the left wing and beleow the left leg, basically the lower half. It feels like she's a filled balloon. Can it be pus? Or somekind of tumor? If it were pus, could I just use a needle and drain it or would it require a certain procedure?

It could be air from a leaking air sac which may have been caused by an injury. I had a chick with that, and I stuck a 22 gauge needle just under the skin and squeezed out all the air. Sometimes it can come back. A larger needle, a 20 or 18 gauge, might be needed if it is fluid or blood. A tumor would feel firm or hard, and she looks a bit you for that. An abscess with pus would feel soft and puffy, unless it has been there awhile. Lets us know how she does. I will check back in tomorrow.

I poked a small hole with a needle and nothing came out. It seems to be air.

Did you try to deflate it by pushing the air out of it kind of like an inner tube? What size needle? Is the chick eating and drinking, or having any trouble breathing. I'm sorry I didn't see your latest post earlier. It may take more than one puncture to get air out.

Yeah, she is eating and drinking. So I could squeeze the air out? Is this life threatening for her?

If she is acting normally she may be fine. If the air sac is large I would push all of the air out. If it is small, it can absorb on it's own. Here are some articles you can read:
