Don't know what to do?

This evening when I got home one of the New Hampshire pullets just kept chirping. Upon picking her up and examing her I saw what looked like poo on her belly. thinking it is But when I took a warm wet washcloth to clean it up it won't really budge and it looks like it is bleeding a little. So I was scared to do anything more. I know it is not the vent area it is more on the belly. Can someone please tell me what to do.

You will need to clean her up to be able to determine the problem. Try washing it off in a warm water bath, that should soften it and help it come off. If its blood you can use a dilute solution on hydrogen peroxide.

If she's still a chick, perhaps it's just her umbilical cord ? If so, you shouldn't pick at it !

After some thought that is the conclusion that I am coming to. I did not know chickens had those. Don't laugh I really didn't. I will leave it alone and see what happens. Thank you.

If shes just a chick it is probably just the umbilical cord.
