DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!

i picked up a dozen turkeys today from the mail office... once i took them out and set them in their cage i noticed a little guy that kinda flopped around but he doesnt have his eyes open and he keeps opening and closing his mouth a little bit and it makes a small popping noise... ANY suggestions??? i'd apperciate it considering their heritage turkeys so they can breed on their own not sure if they have different illnessess too.... THANKS!

i have never had turkeys before and suspect that you are talking about young chicks, i had a similar problem with a baby pheasents recently; she would just lay down with her eyes closed, all limp. i basically just kept dipping her beak i a warm water dish with a little sugar dissolved in it. i honestlly thought this chick was a gonner i thought about culling it but just gave it food lots of water and set it in its own warm box away from the others. the next day i came back to check on her and she looked alot better.... i continued to do this until she looked well enough to go back in with the other chicks.

the best thing i think you could do is:
dip the beak in warm (sugared) water
keep away from others in warm spot
give choice of food
let rest

other than that there is not much you can do for the poor thing, i wish you well!

Popping noise? Like crinkling paper/cellophane? If so, the poor thing has a ruptured air sac and is probably not going to make it.
