A while back someone was here buying daylilies and noticed my chickens (I only raised Barred Rocks at the time) and mentioned her Husband raised Dominiques. I, in blatant ignorance, said "yes, they are the same but the combs".
I'd never laugh at anyone...

Just what I needed.
I read awhile back about a gal who inherited 15 laying hens and wanted to know how she could tell which ones laid eggs and which ones had babies.
Did you know that all of the geckos in FL are female? ALL OF THEM. Scientists have caught and studied hundreds of thousands of them. ALL FEMALE. How do they reproduce? Sort of asexually. Every egg they lay is a female egg because there are no males the inroduce the male gene. This happens with fish too (there are fish and frogs that will also change sex). Maybe theres birds out there that are similar. Who knows? I don't.
