I often use my washer or dryer top as a workbench, as it's usually the only clear surface available.
...and plastic bottles as 'feeders'.

An aside; I grew up in Wisconsin, and had no idea that we DRINK, compared to, say, Michiganders.

We moved to the country and everyone seems happier.

I just ordered an automatic door opener ...I am so excited. And I hope to shop for new chicken feed- all flock crumble.

I think it is odd they don’t eat the pellets. I wonder how long they stay fresh? I am pretty sure it has been a month and hardly anything is gone.
I might just dump it.

In the hot humid season or cool damp time of the year, I let feeders get nearly empty monthly, then dump out and clean. If that feed is not clumping, moldy or stinky, I put into a large coffee can and make a wet mash daily until gone.
I no longer fill the feeders to the top. I fill to 1/3 in my 2 hens coop and 1/2 way in the 5 hens coop.
I had feed go bad 5 months past mill date. It was in my house in original bag. GC
