Don't use puppy pads for liners!

I was just about to dump the pine shavings out of the brooder and put puppy pads instead, but something made me want to google this first. Thi is what I found...

So glad I checked first! AND, the 100 count of pads I bought are made in china!

I will be donating these to my Mother in law for her dog!

I have decided to use towels and just wash them myself!

Excellent information - thank you! I don't use them myself, but it's always valuable to pass this kind of info along. I'm about to the point that if I see 'made in China' on the label, it goes back on the shelf.

Interesting, but maybe not all pads are the same - I have used puppy pads in my brooders for years without issue, have some in there right now.

There may not be an issue using them in a brooder with an open top. They were using these in an incubator, so the fumes were just too much for the baby squirrels.

I've been using puppy pads under shavings in an open brooder, and they have been working wonderfully.....so it might just have been the fumes.

Ya, that has to be it! I have a lid on my brooder because I don't trust the cats LOL I'm going to use a towel for now. When I set up their pen though, which is which is why I bought the pads, it has an open top, and maybe I'll give them a try.



Which brand puppy pads are you guys using? Mine are from Mednet Direct and it says made in China.

I'm using OUT! petcare moisturelock pads and they are made in the US! Woohoo!
