I had a color guard "instructor" that was really a twirler. They do splits. We don't. I'm not tossing a six foot weighted pole into the air and going into the splits to catch it. That's the stupidest thing ever. But she'd force us down into them. And we had to hold them for three minutes. If anyone popped up out them we'd have to start over. You are doing what you can do. That is awesome. Just because you didn’t do the workout of a professional body builder doesn’t mean what you did is not amazing.
You can’t say it’s not just because it’s not the most impressive workout or because your form wasn’t perfect. You are still doing it. And every time you do it you are getting better.
You can’t compare yourself to the people who do intense workouts all the time. They’ve been growing their muscles for years. That’s the level they’re on. And the one you will be on after you slowly work for it.
It’s the people who have the will power to do a little extra every day that are amazing. The people that start with a professional body builder’s workout are the ones who will burn out within two weeks. You have to start with what your body can take and add to it as you grow.
What you are doing is amazing
